Somewhere in the world, a rocket lifts off roughly every other day — but launch schedules are scattered across agency feeds, slip constantly, and most trackers either lag or bury the data under ads. So I added a live launch board to this site: every scheduled orbital launch worldwide, with a running countdown to the next one.
What the tracker shows
The board pulls the open Launch Library 2 dataset once an hour and merges two views into one sortable table: 38 upcoming launches (with dates, status, rocket, agency and pad) and 15 recent results (successes and failures as they land). Mission names link to official webcasts where one exists.
What the current manifest looks like
The data right now paints a familiar picture of who actually flies:
- SpaceX operates 17 of the 38 upcoming launches — 14 of them on Falcon 9 Block 5, plus two Falcon Heavy flights. Nobody else is close; Rocket Lab follows with 5 Electron missions.
- It’s a genuinely global cadence: upcoming pads span the US (18), New Zealand (5), China (5), French Guiana (3), Kazakhstan (2) and Brazil (1).
- Status honesty matters: of the 38 upcoming, 9 are firm “Go for Launch”, 27 sit at “To Be Determined” and 2 at “To Be Confirmed” — the tracker shows the raw status rather than pretending every listed date is real.
- Next up: a Gravity-1 flight from the Haiyang sea-launch platform — a reminder that some of the most interesting launches now happen off a converted ship in the Yellow Sea.
Why build it this way
The tracker keeps its own history of every launch it sees — including how the status changes over time. That turns a simple schedule board into a dataset: over the coming months it will be able to answer which agencies actually hit their dates, how often “Go” slips to “TBD”, real launch cadence per rocket family, and success rates by provider. Those numbers become posts on their own — the same model as the live exchange spread monitor, the CVE Watch feed, and the perp funding board.
Honest limits
- Launch times move constantly — an hourly refresh can miss last-minute scrubs by up to an hour; check the linked webcast for final calls.
- “Launch Successful” reflects the data feed’s status; payload deployment and mission objectives are a separate question.
- Suborbital flights are tracked only when the source lists them.
